March 28, 2021 — In the past 24 hours, Croatia National Headquarters reported 1,802 new COVID-19 cases (17% positive) and 10,092 active cases. Twenty-one (21) have died and there are 30,327 people in self-isolation. Over the past 14 days, they have reported a total of 16,177 new cases.
In the past 24 hours, the individual Croatia counties also reported 1,460 new COVID-19 cases. In addition, they reported a total of 17,202 new cases over the past 14 days.

Croatia National Headquarters Measures
Croatia officially closed night clubs, night bars, and discos. Restaurants and cafes may serve guests on open terraces. Stores and businesses must adhere to the capacities prescribed by Civil Protection Headquarters. All events and gatherings with more than 25 people are prohibited, funerals included.
Additional Restrictions for Dubrovnik-Neretva, Primorje-Gorski Kotar, Zadar and City of Zagreb Counties
Additional measures went into effect for Dubrovnik-Neretva, Primorje-Gorski Kotar, Zadar and Zagreb (City) Counties beginning March 27 and March 29. These restrictions are in addition to the restrictions imposed nationally:

Terraces Open and Easing Restrictions on Indoor Training Effective March 1
Effective Monday March 1, 2021 — the terraces of cafes and restaurants opened:
- Hours of operation: from 6:00 to 22:00.
- Guests may only be served in open areas.
- Tables must be 3m apart, and the distance between guests at different tables must be at least 1.5m.
- Music will be allowed at low volumes.
- The number of guests will be calculated based upon on the size of the terrace.
- It is necessary to wear a mask when going to the enclosed part (of the establishment). This is only permitted for using the bathrooms.
- There must be disinfectant at the entrance and a prominent sign indicating the number of people allowed.
As of Monday March 1, training in enclosed facilities will also be permitted:
- No contact among athletes.
- The number of people will be limited – one person per 20 m2 maximum.
- A clearly marked sign at the entrance of the space.
- Halls must be regularly ventilated and thoroughly cleaned after each training session.
- It is recommended that locker rooms and showers not be used.
- It is necessary to wear a protective mask upon arrival and departure.

Effective February 15, 2021 — according to Prime Minister Plenković, the following measures were eased.
- Gyms and fitness centers opened, with strict adherence to epidemiological measures.
- Children may be provided with instruction in foreign language schools and workshops, with strict adherence to epidemiological measures.
- Betting centers, casinos, and slot machine clubs opened, under new epidemiological guidelines.
Effective January 29, 2021 — contactless “outdoor” sports were allowed in pools/balloons.
Masks Required Indoors and Public Spaces Where Social Distancing Not Possible
As of December 5, non-wearing or improper wearing of masks where they are mandatory will be punished with a 500 HRK fine (66 EUR).
Masks must be worn indoors and are mandatory in open public places where there is increased risk of virus transmission — where it is not possible to maintain a meter and a half distance. These circumstances include waiting in lines, riding in elevators and at public transport stops. More information here (in Croatian).
Restrictions on Entry Into Croatia Extended to March 31
Croatia initially imposed restrictions on entry effective December 1. Those have been extended to March 31, 2021. More information here:
- People from the South Africa, Brazil, and Zanzibar must show a negative PCR test not older than 48 hours when entering Croatia and are assigned isolation for 14 days. Isolation can be shortened to 7 days if they obtain a PCR test and the test is negative. Travelers are advised to contact MUP at the following email address for details: [email protected]
- People from third countries who come to Croatia due to urgent personal reasons are limited to a maximum of 12 hours in Croatia.
- According the US Embassy in Croatia website:
“Entry for tourism is permitted only with documentary evidence of an accommodation paid in advance and in full, prior to arrival at the border (The accommodation reservation alone is not sufficient to be permitted entry). Tourists must have a negative PCR test result not older than 48 hours from the time of the swab to crossing the border.” - For Third Country Nationals (Including UK/US) from koronavirus.hr:
“Persons travelling for urgent personal/family reasons, business reasons or other economic interest (if they intend to stay in the Republic of Croatia for more than 12 hours, entry into the Republic of Croatia will be provided upon presentation of a negative PCR test on SARS-CoV-2 not older than 48 hours or by PCR testing on SARS-CoV-2 immediately upon arriving to the Republic of Croatia and by self-isolating until they receive a negative test result).” - People who come with the aim of delivering aid to the earthquake-affected area may enter Croatia with prior consent from the headquarters.
