COVID-19 News in Past 48 Hours
Krunoslav Capak: We have a Vaccination Plan
The Director of the Croatian Institute of Public Health, Krunoslav Capak, said that strict measures should bring results. “Given that we have introduced strict measures, we expect the numbers to fall, but it is difficult to assess the impact because we have no experience in doing so,” Capak revealed. “We’ve created a vaccination plan which contains all the essential elements – who the vaccinators are, the population which is vaccinated by priority, and what the distribution points are according to the data we have now,” Capak explained on Tuesday.
Prime Minister Has COVID-19 and Doing Fine
Prime Minister Plenković is fulfilling his work tasks as usual, but he has been issued a measure of 10 days of isolation, so that all future meetings, including the upper cabinet of the government, will be organized by video, reported HRT on Tuesday.
“The Prime Minister and his wife are feeling well, they have mild symptoms of COVID-19. The prime minister has four deputy prime ministers. These are people he trusts and this is his choice,” explained Government spokesman Marko Milić.
Dikic Says Primorac, Radman and Lauc Spreading Fake News
“Croatia has 1,040 people per 100,000 infected in a two-week average. That is the worst number after Luxembourg, and the death toll is 149. That’s more than in four months on. “It’s really worrying. There’s no need to talk about a fake light at the end of the tunnel, a few thousand more people could die by the time that light appears,” he said on Tuesday.
“It is important that there is no increase and decrease when it suits politics. Since the beginning of the pandemic, leadership has deviated from the path of science to a slippery path of politicking mixed with false statements by three prime minister advisers, which is frivolous. Many scientists are shocked by these statements.
I mean the statements of Primorac that the virus has weakened, Radman that it has mutated and disappeared, and Lauc says that it is good for the virus to spread among the younger population. It spreads like classic fake news. This is not just my opinion but of all members of the Scientific Council. There is a serious problem with it. The statements from the seven of us were not taken seriously. ut those of these these three were, and that is why we had a serious loss of life in November.

“I manage a catering facility, we can’t handle the costs. No one is helping us, we’re the last hole in the pipe. It won’t be like that anymore,” one protester told N1. He said he is not working now and cannot pay salaries. He is asking the government for help. After a 10-minute walk, the protesters arrived front of the Ministry of Finance. There, as announced, they lit lamps. One of the organizers said there were between 1,000 and 2,000 people in attendance.
