November 17, 2020 — Ryanair, the Irish budget airline, has cancelled up to 15 international routes to Croatia for the summer of 2021. These routes serve Pula, Rijeka, Zadar and Split.
Ryanair has revised its flight schedule for the summer season of 2021 and suspended sales on numerous international routes, including as many as 15 to and from Croatian airports – Pula, Rijeka, Zadar and Split.
Ryanair had Berlin – Pula and Vienna – Split routes on sale until the beginning of November, but they have withdrawn them. In addition, it is currently not possible to buy tickets on this well-known Irish airline for the summer flight schedule next year. Next summer, Ryanair will offer several routes to Pula and one to Split (from Dublin) according to Croatian Aviation.

Ryanair Only Offers Frankfurt Hahn – Rijeka Flight for Summer 2021
The airline currently offers only one route to Rijeka Airport for summer 2021. This is the Frankfurt Hahn – Rijeka line, which also operated this summer. In 2019, Ryanair operated from Frankfurt’s main airport to Rijeka, which was a far better option for passengers than Hahn, which is 115 kilometers away.
There are currently no routes from London and Brussels to Rijeka available for next summer season. And, the airline cancelled the long-running Stockholm – Rijeka route earlier. According to the current flight schedule, just the flight from Frankfurt Hahn to Rijeka will be running.
Zadar Airport had, as Croatian Aviation reports, big announcements from Ryanair and partner company Laudamotion for summer 2020. Due to the outbreak of the pandemic, they did not launch most of the announced routes. However, the company offered all of the routes for sale for next summer. This left space for aircraft bases in Zadar and big expansion in the Croatian market.

Popular Irish Budget Airline Nixes 11 Summer 2021 Routes to Zadar
At the beginning of November, Ryanair withdrew 11 routes to Zadar for next year, and the following lines are no longer available:
- Aarhus – Zadar
- Hamburg – Zadar
- Maastricht – Zadar
- Bremen – Zadar
- Toulouse – Zadar
- Riga – Zadar
- Kaunas – Zadar
- Liverpool – Zadar
- Cork – Zadar
- Dublin – Zadar
- London – Zadar
Ryanair planned to launch most of these routes this summer, but that did not happen due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Ryanair obviously has no plans to base aircraft in Zadar next year. It is even more surprising that there will be no flights available from Dublin and London to Zadar. These two lines did not operate this summer either. However, in past years this airline had an excellent occupancy on these routes. Consequently, ticket prices were often high, especially in peak season .
The flight schedule is available on the Ryanair website and it is still, of course, subject to change. Furthermore, the headquarters of this airline confirmed the revised schedule to Croatian Aviation. Therefore, we will have to wait until January for a final summer 2021 flight schedule to Croatia. And changes will certainly depend on the epidemiological situation and demand.
