November 13, 2020 — KLM, the Dutch national airline, will briefly offer flights from Amsterdam – Split from December of this year to January next year.
The oldest airline in the world, KLM, will offer the Amsterdam – Split route during the Christmas and New Year holidays according to Croatian Aviation.
KLM has never flown to Split during winter, but the introduction of this route makes sense, especially now, during a global pandemic. There are a limited number of international routes and passengers have few connecting flights to choose from.
KLM launched the Amsterdam – Split route on July 4, and offered flights 7 times a week. Since the beginning of August, the Dutch airline flew up to 13 times a week on this route. In September and October, they reduced flights to 3 per week. Then, by the end of October, they discontinued the route for the summer season.
KLM Offering 14 Amsterdam – Split Flights Between December 2020, January 2021
However, KLM will briefly resume this route in December and January, and will offer 14 flights between Amsterdam and Split. They have announced 4 flights for the end of December, and 3 for the beginning of January.
KLM will offer direct flights between Amsterdam and Split on:
- Saturday, December 19
- Sunday, December 20
- Wednesday, December 23
- Sunday, December 27
- Saturday, January 02
- Sunday, January 03
- Thursday, January 07
In addition, the airline will be using their E190 aircraft, with 100-seat capacity, and the planes will arrive in Split from Amsterdam around noon.
Croatian Aviation also points out that this is the second airline which will briefly return to Split for the holidays. Two days ago, Edelweiss Air announced that it will offer flights from Zurich – Split route during the same time period. Details about those flights here.
KLM will discontinue service to Split after January 7, 2021. However, they plan to resume the route from Amsterdam on May 1, 2021. The Dutch airline has placed their entire summer 2021 flight schedule on their official website and tickets are on sale.
