
November 11, 2020 — Edelweiss Air and Swiss Air plan a brief return to Split Airport in December 2020 and January 2021. Although Edelweiss normally flies to Split during the summer season, this Swiss company has announced flights on the Zurich – Split route for December this year and January next year.

Tickets are on sale on the official websites of Edelweiss Air and Swiss Airwhich has a code-share on this line according to Croatian Aviation. A codeshare flight is a commercial flight offered by an airline which other airlines can also sell and market.
Edelweiss Air will operate three flights to and from Split in December:
- Saturday, December 19
- Wednesday, December 23
- Saturday, December 26
The planes will depart Zurich in the morning for all three flights.
The Swiss airline also announced three flights for the first half of January 2020:
- Saturday, January 2
- Wednesday, January 6
- and Saturday, January 9
Edelweiss Air will then return to Split Airport in April 2021 when their summer flight schedule begins.
Condor, Chair Airlines Announced Summer 2021 Zurich – Split Flights
During the past 10 days, two more carriers have introduced flights on the Zurich – Split route: Condor and Chair Airlines.

Edelweiss Air, in cooperation with Swiss Air, have launched flights on the Zurich – Split route right before the holidays. Consequently, flight occupancy will likely be satisfactory since many will be returning home for the holidays. In addition, a number of tourists will probably decide to spend the holidays in Split and the surrounding region.
The Swiss airline will be using their fleet of A320 aircraft for all flights, which have a capacity of 174 seats. Edelweiss Air’s decision to briefly launch a route to Split just in time for the holidays is noteworthy, and Lufthansa may do the same.
