October 30, 2020 — The budget Dutch airline will make its final flights for 2020 to Croatian airports this weekend. Transavia is a subsidiary of KLM, the world’s oldest airline, and a member of the Air France-KLM group.
Transavia had reduced traffic to Pula, Rijeka, Zadar, Split and Dubrovnik this summer according to Croatian Aviation. Nevertheless, the airline connected five Croatian airports with destinations in France and the Netherlands, despite reduced demand. Transavia’s flight schedule for September 2020 can be found here.
The company cut off traffic to Rijeka, Pula and Zadar in September. Transavia continued operating to Split and Dubrovnik in October with a relatively small number of weekly flights.
Split – Paris Orly Route Operated 2 to 3 Times a Week in October
The line Split – Paris Orly operated 2 to 3 times a week in October. Today (Friday, October 30) the company will perform the last flight to Split on the route from Orly.
- Friday, October 30: Split – Paris Orly, 12:35 – 14:45
Transavia flew two routes to Dubrovnik during October, originating from Nantes and Paris. However, these two flights will end this year, a day later than the flights to Split, on Saturday, October 31.
Two France to Dubrovnik Routes Operated on Saturdays
The two October routes from France to Dubrovnik operated on a minimum weekly basis, only once a week, on Saturdays. Nevertheless, the Dutch airline’s fleet of B737-800 aircraft, with a capacity of 189 seats, served all of these routes.
- Saturday, October 31: Dubrovnik – Nantes, 09:05 – 11:55
- Saturday, October 31: Dubrovnik – Paris Orly, 19:15 – 21:45
In any case, Transavia will no longer fly regular routes to Croatian airports after this last weekend in October. However, the airline anticipates re-establishing several seasonal routes in mid-April next year. This budget company has never flown to Croatian airports during winter. In addition, Transavia will not operate to neighboring airports (Ljubljana and Belgrade) throughout the winter season.
