
August 13, 2020 — In the past 24 hours, Croatia reported 180 new COVID-19 cases, which is the highest number of new cases in one day since the beginning of the epidemic. There are currently 811 active cases. One person has died.

The National Headquarters held a conference yesterday after addressing the public by press release for nearly two weeks. Yesterday, Croatia confirmed many as 130 new cases. In terms of new cases, this is the second worst day since the beginning of the epidemic and the biggest jump in about a month. The number of active cases is 686.
The nightclubs where COVID-19 has appeared in recent days will be closed.

13:26 – Bjelovarsko-Bilogorska – no new COVID-19 cases.
Yesterday, 33 people were tested for COVID-19 in Bjelovar-Bilogora County, 30 people were negative, and the results for 3 tests are pending.
There are currently 2 active cases, since 1 recovered and was removed from the patient register. There are 15 people in self-isolation.
13:19 – Dubrovnik-Neretva County – 3 new COVID-19 cases. Case Breakdown: 1 young woman from Ploče, 1 middle-aged woman from Metković and 1 young man from Metković.
As of today, two foreign nationals have recovered. A total of 7082 tests have been processed since the beginning of the pandemic. One (1) person was hospitalized in OB Dubrovnik.
A total of 276 people are in self-isolation, and 1 violation was reported in the last 24 hours. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 50 self-isolation violations have been confirmed.
13:13 – Karlovac County – 5 new COVID-19 cases.
Since yesterday, 80 people were tested in Karlovac County (1 in Ogulin). In the last 24 hours, 5 new COVID-19 cases have been confirmed.
There are 3 young men and one older woman from Karlovac, as well as a (1) foreign citizen who was traveling through Karlovac. Epidemiological processing is ongoing. One young man was staying in Vodice when he became infected, while the sources of infection is under investigation for the others.
The foreign citizen will not be registered as a patient from Karlovac County, considering that he was in transit. So, as of today, the county has reported 111 cases since the beginning of the epidemic.
One patient is expected to be released from OB Karlovac today and there are 80 people in self-isolation.
13:03 – Koprivnica-Križevci County – 0 new cases. All 28 COVID-19 tests processed in the past 24 hours were negative. Since the beginning of the epidemic, a total of 108 cases of COVID-19 have been reported.
12:59 – Varaždinska County – 3 new COVID-19 cases.
In the last 24 hours, 3 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed in Varaždin County, the County Civil Protection Headquarters reported. All 3 are close family contacts of an infected person. They are middle-aged and asymptomatic and will be treated at home.
In Varaždin County, there are now 16 active cases of COVID-19, of which 3 patients are hospitalized at the Varaždin General Hospital, and 13 of them are in home isolation and under the health supervision of an infectologist.
Since the beginning of the outbreak, the county has confirmed 77 cases, and 13 of those are statistically additionally attributed to the county because those patient have listed the county as their official residence. Currently, 27 people are in self-isolation.
12:39 – Krapina-Zagorje County – 1 new COVID-19 case. The new patient is from Gornja Stubica. There are 7 active cases in the county. In the past 24 hours, the county processed 39 tests, of which 38 were negative and 1 positive. The results of 2 tests are still pending.
12:34 – Međimurska County – 5 new COVID-19 cases.
One (1) new patient vacationed in Vodice which, according to yesterday’s report, the National Civil Protection Headquarters confirmed as a new COVID-19 hotspot, and 3 people are close contacts. The fifth patient has a registered permanent residence in Međimurje County, but lives in another county. So far, the county has processed 2450 tests.
Confirmed: No Italy Entry From Croatia Without Negative Test
11:56 – The government has confirmed: There is no entry into Italy from Croatia without a negative test or testing.
On Twitter, Koronavirus.hr confirmed that it is no longer possible to enter Italy from Croatia without a negative test. It is now obligatory to be tested upon entering Italy.
“Everyone entering Italy from Croatia must submit a negative test not more than 72 hours old upon entry or undergo testing within 48 hours of entering Italy. The decision does not apply exclusively to Croatian citizens, but everyone who has been in Croatia, including Italian citizens.
“Transit is not restricted and does not require a negative test. There is a possibility that transit will be denied in case a person (a citizen of an EU member state) has stayed or transited through one of the countries on the ‘red list’ within 14 days before transit,” the government announced on Twitter.
11:39 – Šibensko-kninska County – 3 new (+ 1 from other county)
In the past 24 hours, Šibenik-Knin County confirmed 3 new COVID-19 cases, all are young people, and 1 resides in another county.
Case Breakdown: 1 female in Šibenik, contact of an infected patient; 1 male in Šibenik whose epidemiological processing is in progress, and 1 make residing in Bilice, who arrived from Germany, whose epidemiological processing is in progress. A (1) middle-aged male, who currently resides in Šibenik-Knin County, and whose official residence is in another county, was also infected.
Currently, 82 people are in self-isolation: 79 people are contacts of patients and 3 contacted the relevant epidemiologist upon entry from third countries. The General Hospital of Šibenik-Knin County is not currently treating any patients with COVID-19 disease.
In the last 24 hours, the county processed 7 COVID-19 tests. There are currently 35 active cases in Šibenik-Knin County.
11:24 – Zagrebačka County – 6 new cases.
Zagreb County reported a total of 278 COVID-19 cases since the beginning of the pandemic. Compared to yesterday’s data, there are 6 more cases, and 5 people have recovered. There are currently 43 active cases in the county. So far, a total of 224 people have recovered and 11 have died.
11:21 – Brod-Posavina County – 4 new COVID-19 cases.
The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Brod-Posavina County since the beginning of the epidemic today is 196, while the number of active cases is 32. The number of people in self-isolation is 112.
11:02 – City of Zagreb – 41 new COVID-19 cases.
There are 41 new COVID-19 patients in Zagreb, of which 11 are contacts of confirmed cases. The other 24 new cases likely became infected while on vacation.
10:41 – Zadar County – 8 new cases.
There are 8 new cases in Zadar County. All are young people born between 1986 and 2001. Their contacts and movements have been verified, and the cases are not interconnected.
Some of the new infections likely occurred during nights out in large groups of people. Others were already in self-isolation and developed mild symptoms, and others were in contact with infected individuals.
One newly infected person is a young man of dual citizenship (Bosnia and Herzegovina and Switzerland) who will stay at arranged accommodation in Zadar until he recovers. His contacts were processed and have been placed in self-isolation.
Split Dalmatia County Reports 39 New Cases
10:27 – Split-Dalmatia County – 39 new (+2 from other countries), one woman has died.
In the Split-Dalmatia County, there are 37 new COVID-19 patients residing in that county, two foreigners and two people from other counties.
Out of 378 processed tests, there are 37 new COVID-19 cases in Split-Dalmatia County, 18 from Split, 1 from Solina, 1 from Okrug, 1 from Trogir, 1 from Lokvičića, 2 from Imotski, 1 from Proložac, 1 from Ciste Provo, 5 from Kastela, 1 from Sinj, 1 from Otok, 1 from Lecevica, 1 from Bol, 1 from Stari Grad and and 1 from Makarska.
In addition to the 37 new infections in the county, there are 2 from other counties: 1 from Zagreb County and one from the City of Zagreb. There are also 2 foreign nationals (1 from United Kingdom and 1 from Germany). Out of 37 new infections, 11 are contacts of previously infected patients, while the others are being treated epidemiologically.
According to the report of KBC Split, an elderly woman aged 81 died, who, in addition to several severe chronic diseases, was also positive for covid infection. 628 people are in self-isolation. 16 covid positive persons are in hospital at the Clinical Hospital Center Split, while 1 person is on a respirator.
9:55 – Lika-Senj County – no new COVID-19 cases.
A total of 36 people became infected with COVID-19, 6 cases are active, 29 people have recovered and 1 person died. In the past 24 hours, 16 people have been tested.
Italy: COVID-19 Testing for Entry from Croatia
9:35 – The Civil Protection Headquarters said via Twitter that they were confirming the Italy’s decision on mandatory testing for everyone entering the country from Croatia.
9:33 – Vukovar-Srijem County – 9 new COVID-19 cases (6 from Vinkovci, 1 from Vukovar, 1 from Cerna and 1 from Otok).
9:20 – Primorje-Gorski Kotar – 2 new COVID-19 cases.
Primorje-Gorski Kotar County reported 2 new infections. Both returned from Dalmatia. There are currently 26 active cases and 149 people have recovered. Three (3) people are hospitalized at the KBC, while 23 people are in isolation at home.
Slovenia: Croatia Will Soon be on Red List
9:17 – According to the Slovenian government: Croatia will soon be on the red list.
“Croatia will soon be on the red list,” said Jelko Kacin, the Slovenian government’s spokesman for COVID-19, last night. He added that there were too many infections among tourists. He also sharply criticized the Croatian government for the way it has responded to the epidemic.
9:11 – Osijek-Baranja County – 12 new cases.
Out of a total of 173 samples tested in Osijek-Baranja County, 12 were positive for COVID-19. Ten (10) are from Osijek, 1 from Našice and 1 from Popovac.
At the Clinical Hospital Center Osijek, the situation is unchanged: 26 patients are hospitalized, 3 of whom are on ventilators. Epidemiologists have issued self-isolation orders for 12 contacts of patients, so there are currently 173 people in self-isolation.
9:01 – Istria County – 1 new case – a kindergarten employee in Pula.
During the past 24 hours, 144 COVID-19 tests were processed at the Institute of Public Health of Istria County, of which 1 was positive. The person is an employee at a kindergarten in Pula. The county is pursuing epidemiological treatment, implementing anti-epidemic measures, determining contacts and issuing self-isolation measures, as well as decontaminating the area.
Two (2) people have recovered and there are currently 22 active COVID-19 cases. There are 105 people in self-isolation.
8:57 – Sisak-Moslavina County – 1 new case. The patient is from Popovača, the local headquarters announced.
8:39 – Požega-Slavonia County – no (0) new COVID-19 cases.
There are no new cases in Požega-Slavonia County. There are currently 3 active COVID-19 cases in the county and all are in home isolation. There are 40 people in self-isolation, and 4119 people have been tested since the beginning of epidemic. The county processed 56 tests in the last 24 hours and all results were negative.
8:27 – Virovitica-Podravina County – no (0) new cases. Of the 24 people tested for COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, all were negative, said the Civil Protection Headquarters.
7:45 – Dragan Primorac, a Croatian geneticist and forensic scientist, was a guest on Dobro jutro, Hrvatska on HRT. He points out that competition between countries over the procurement of a vaccine is unnatural.
“It becomes insane if we are placing emphasis with who will be first with a vaccine and not with the issue of safety. Scientists are saying one thing and politicians are saying another,” Primorac pointed out.
